New air diffuser ILQ sf

New air diffuser ILQsf  from LTG permits energy-saving on-demand ventilation of industrial buildings.

With its “ILQsf”, LTG Aktiengesellschaft in Stuttgart has designed an industrial diffuser, for ceiling or floor mounting, which for the first time permits operation with variable flow rates while effectively keeping pollutants out of the frequented area even with a minimal supply air flow. To do so, LTG combined in the ILQsf (sf standing for SmartFlow) a mixed and a displacement air diffuser. The mixed air diffuser works to the induction principle: the supply air treated by the central unit exits the mixed air diffuser highly pulsed, sucks in room air, and mixes with the latter. The result is a strong and turbulent air jet that stabilizes the flow regardless of the temperature. Thanks to the induction effect, this already works with one fifth of the maximum flow rate. Air is additionally discharged at low speed via the displacement air diffuser only when higher air quantities are needed, for example to cool a building with slightly insufficient temperatures.

A mechanical element inside the ILQsf automatically distributes the air between the mixed and displacement air diffusers. Since this requires neither an electric component nor switching to heating or cooling mode, the ILQsf air diffusers can be fitted instead of conventional air diffusers. This means that resource-preserving on-demand ventilation can easily be implemented even in existing industrial buildings. The ILQsf is available with immediate effect in two sizes, for air flow rates of up to 4500 m³/h, and is suitable both for floor mounting and for installation heights of up to 4 meters.
